Swerve Trio have a couple of gigs in leading live music pubs in Lancaster in late August:
- The Robert Gillow, Saturday 25 August, 9 pm
- The Stonewell Tavern, Thursday 30 August, 9.30 pm.
It’s our first at the Gillow, a quite intimate space where the drums will have an emphasis on the brushes for the very pragmatic reason that there is a volume meter that cuts power over a certain level! It’s a now regular return booking at the Stonewell. (The band portraits below were taken at our last Stonewell gig, by Valentine Archer; there’s a set of them on the Stonewell Tavern band gallery.) Special thanks to landlords Mark (the Gillow) and Jerry (the Stonewell) for sustained support of live music in the city, for booking us. Next month, Swerve Trio, and Adverse Camber, appear during the Lancaster Jazz Festival. Yes, jazz jouissance…
And below is some footage of Swerve at the Robert Gillow on Saturday, playing ‘I got it bad (and that ain’t good)’, shot by local photographer and clarinettist Barrie Marshall, to whom many thanks…
